Coromandel Infotech bags the World Bank's Karnataka Health Systems Development and Reform Project.

Coromandel Infotech India Limited, an IT initiative of THE INDIA CEMENTS LTD, has been selected as technology solution partner for the World Bank's initiative "Karnataka's Health Systems Development Project" to provide technical solution to strengthen governance & improve the monitoring in the World Bank Operations in India.
In this project, the world Bank and the Karnataka government pilots the beneficiary verification platform to improve monitoring and evaluation capacity, timeliness and reliability of the field data collection, electronically verify service delivery and collect the feedback to the services delivered. Conceptualized by the World Bank, the project aims to create information based IT systems in real time basis. Coromandel Infotech will deploy the appropriate technologies to collect and submit the data to the World Bank. This project will also present a citizen interface to provide basic services to the participants. Information collected will be uploaded and made available to everyone in the real time or near real time depending upon the local conditions.

Doorstep Payments to NREGS and SSP Beneficiaries - 04th February 2010
Mr. Chalapathy Rao, the Senior Functionary of Coromandel Infotech India Limited, attending a function held in Komireddypalli to commemorate Platinum Jubilee of Reserve Bank of India, stated that with Smart Cards, payments will be directly disbursed to the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS) and Social Security Pensions (SSP) beneficiaries at their doorstep.
He detailed that on behalf of State Bank of Hyderabad, Coromandel Infotech is involved in the process of enrollment and issuance of Smart Cards. He mentioned that enrollment process has commenced from 01 February 2010 and the Company has set a target of issuing 1.67 lakh Smart Cards by 31 March 2010. He also added that disbursement of NREGS and SSP funds through Smart Cards will commence from 01 April 2010.
He also elaborated that fingerprints and other personal particulars of each and every beneficiary will be stored in the Smart Cards issued to the beneficiaries.
Dr Subir Gokarn (Deputy Governor of RBI) gave away the first Smart Card to a beneficiary from Kanduru of Addakula Mandal during the function.
Smart Cards Issuance to NREGS and SSP Beneficiaries - 04th February 2010
State Bank of Hyderabad along with its Technology Service Provider - Coromandel Infotech India Limited held a Press Meet in the Roads & Buildings Guest House. Mr. Chalapathy Rao, the Senior Functionary of Coromandel Infotech India Limited, while addressing the gathering announced that 1, 67,000 Smart Cards will be issued in the district by 30 March 2010.
The Senior Functionary, mentioned that beneficiaries of National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS) and Social Security Pension (SSP) will be highly benefited with the secured mode of payment through Smart Cards. The Smart Cards enrollment process has commenced in the district from 01 February 2010 and steps are being taken to issue 3 lakh Smart Cards during the current year.
He detailed that during the enrollment process, the address, photograph and fingerprints of the beneficiaries will be captured. He also added that the personalized smart cards will be issued to the enrolled beneficiaries within 15 days.
